“द टेल ऑफ कस्टर्ड द ड्रैगन” ओग्डन नैश द्वारा रचित एक हास्यपूर्ण कविता है। यह एक ऐसे ड्रैगन की कहानी है जो बाहर से डरपोक लगता है, लेकिन वास्तव में सबसे बहादुर साबित होता है। कविता यह संदेश देती है कि सच्ची बहादुरी अक्सर दिखावे में नहीं होती।

The poem describes a little girl named Belinda who lives with her pets—Ink (a black kitten), Blink (a grey mouse), Mustard (a brave dog), and Custard (a cowardly dragon). Everyone boasts of their bravery and mocks Custard for being scared of everything. However, when a pirate suddenly enters their house, all the brave ones run away in fear, while Custard, the timid dragon, fights bravely and defeats the pirate. After the danger is over, the others return and continue to tease Custard, although he has proven himself the bravest of all. The poem teaches us not to judge others by their appearance or reputation.

इस कविता में बेलिंडा नाम की एक लड़की और उसके पालतू जानवरों की कहानी है—एक काली बिल्ली इंक, एक चूहा ब्लिंक, एक कुत्ता मस्टर्ड और एक ड्रैगन कस्टर्ड। सब अपने-आप को बहुत बहादुर बताते हैं और डरपोक कस्टर्ड का मज़ाक उड़ाते हैं। लेकिन जब अचानक एक समुद्री लुटेरा (पाइरेट) घर में घुसता है, तो सभी बहादुर जानवर डरकर भाग जाते हैं। केवल कस्टर्ड अकेला बहादुरी से लड़ता है और लुटेरे को हरा देता है। लेकिन जब खतरा टल जाता है, तो सब वापस आकर फिर से कस्टर्ड का मज़ाक उड़ाने लगते हैं। यह कविता सिखाती है कि असली बहादुरी दिखावे से नहीं, कर्मों से पहचानी जाती है।
