Answer
Different people have different goals of development. For example, an industrialist may want more profit, a farmer may desire better irrigation, and a student may seek quality education. Hence, development means different things to different people.
विभिन्न लोगों के विकास के लक्ष्य अलग-अलग होते हैं। जैसे, उद्योगपति लाभ चाहता है, किसान बेहतर सिंचाई चाहता है और छात्र अच्छी शिक्षा चाहता है। इसलिए, विकास की धारणा हर व्यक्ति के लिए भिन्न होती है।
Question 4:
How has India progressed in ‘Human Development Index (HDI)’? Explain it with any two examples.
भारत ने ‘मानव विकास सूचकांक (HDI)’ में किस प्रकार प्रगति की है? इसे किन्हीं दो उदाहरणों से स्पष्ट कीजिए।
Answer
India has shown improvement in the Human Development Index over the years. Life expectancy has increased due to better health facilities, and literacy rates have improved because of expansion of education. These factors reflect progress in human development.
भारत ने मानव विकास सूचकांक में उल्लेखनीय प्रगति की है। बेहतर स्वास्थ्य सुविधाओं के कारण जीवन प्रत्याशा में वृद्धि हुई है तथा शिक्षा के विस्तार से साक्षरता दर बढ़ी है। ये दोनों उदाहरण भारत में मानव विकास की प्रगति को दर्शाते हैं।
