Question 2:
A child logs for toys, sweets and other things but not at the cost of his parents. Comment with reference to the story “The Lost Child ” in about 100-120 words.
Question 3:
Compare and contrast the altitude of the child before and after his separation from his parents.
Answer
Before separation, the child is cheerful, excited, and curious as he walks through the fair. He is attracted to toys, sweets, balloons, and the snake-charmer’s music. Although he wants many things, he does not insist strongly because he feels secure in his parents’ presence. His happiness depends on the colourful surroundings and small pleasures.
After losing his parents, his attitude changes completely. Fear and anxiety replace joy and curiosity. He forgets all about toys and sweets and desperately cries only for his mother and father. The attractions of the fair no longer interest him. This contrast shows that a child’s real happiness and security lie in parental love, not in material things.
